January Favourites

January. That month that kinda just…happened.
Gloomy, dark, cold and… poor. That’s how I’d describe it!
Not that I didn’t have some great days within the month but I'm so ready for light nights and bright mornings!

BUT ANYWAY, moving away from the doom and gloom, here are some of the things that made my January that little bit brighter!!

The Manizer Sisters. Wow. This. Just. Yes.

I got this for Christmas from my best friend, Amy. I really wanted the Mary-lou (Who doesn’t?!) but it was sold out everywhere so she kindly bought me the sisters instead!!
The Mary-Lou… I'm sure you’ve all read enough about it to drive you crazy. But honestly. It is SO worth the hype. It is such a beautiful highlighter and I’ve never really been into highlighting before… but now I can’t go a day without it!
This palette comes with a blush shade and a bronzer shade. They are both absolutely beautiful but they do also have the shimmer that comes with the Mary-Lou and I do prefer more of a matte contour. But the colours are so vibrant, I can definitely see myself wearing them more in summer!

The Two-Faced blusher.
I got this in NYC and it featured in my NYC haul but honestly, this is one of the best blushers I’ve ever used. You need the tiniest bit on your brush and it is so pigmented! Plus, look how bloody cute it is!!! I hardly want to dig my brush in there!!

MAC - Faux.
The perfect Nude. I have a love/hate relationship with Nude lipsticks as I am quite pale so sometimes they can make me look even more see-through than normal!
But this one is just the perfect ‘my lips but better’ shade. Also, the formula is creamy and not drying at all!! (Which is perfect, especially in winter. Lip balm is my saviour at the minute.)

Kat Von D - Liquid Lipstick
This colour is what dreams are made of. Goes on like a lipgloss, dries like a lipstick. I really thought that this wasn’t going to agree with me (back to the dry lips part!!!) but honestly it isn’t drying at all and it just feels like a lip stain! The colour lasts for hours without having to touch it up and it’s the perfect Winter shade. (I’m trying to get my use out of it before Summer comes back around!)

I also like things other than make up (i know, shocking) so here are a few of my ‘random’ favourites from the past month.

Jill Mansell - Three Amazing things about You.
If you follow my Goodreads account then you will know that this month I finished this book. I’d never read Jill Mansell before but my friend Amy really recommended her and kindly gave me this book. I could not put it down! I fell in love with all of the characters and I laughed and cried all the way through. (Well, not all of the way. That would be pretty weird.)
It follows three different relationships that all have one big thing in common. I’m not going to spoil it but you’ll have to read to find out. Seriously, bring tissues.

Impractical Jokers
I’m not going to write a lot on this because I have a whole Tumblr blog dedicated to this show. I. AM. OBSESSED.
Why can’t I just be a normal girl and LIKE a programme? Why do I have to become obsessed with it?!

This has been one of my favourite blogs for the whole of 2015, never mind January. Becky has content that I love, photography that I envy and a personality that just shines through all of her posts. If you’re ever feeling down I suggest clicking on her blog because it’s enough to put a smile on your face even on the worst day :)

Have you tried any of my favourite products? What are your January favourites?

Lots of love,
Kirsty
